John is a 1978 Bachelor of Arts graduate
of Summit Christian College, Scottsbluff, Nebraska and was ordained into the Christian Ministry by his
home church at O'Neill, Nebraska that same year. He felt
the call of God to ministry in the fall of 1974 and has followed that call full throttle ever since. He has a deep and
devoted love for the Lord, Jesus Christ, His church and to see everyone adopted into the family of God. He has served as minister at First Christian Church in Concordia, Kansas since
February of 2000. He is involved as President of the Concordia Ministerial Association, Secretary of the Christian Evangelizing
Association which starts new churches in the state of Kansas among the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, and teaches
a spring session of Christian Ethics at Cloud County Community College. He has been married
to his wife Penny for 32 years. They have three children and four grandchildren.

Crystal Paredes Children and Youth Minister
 Crystal
Paredes has been with FCC since September 2007 as the Children’s Minister. She is originally from
Nebraska and is a graduate of Summit Christian College (formerly Platte Valley Bible College). She moved
to Kansas to be closer to family in the fall of 2000 after completing a years worth of counseling credits at Lincoln Christian
Seminary. She started out in Clay Center and then moved to Concordia in 2003. Crystal spent 6 years working
for Pawnee Mental Health Services as a Case Manager for children with emotional and behavioral disorders. While
there, she met her husband, Al Paredes, and gained a husband, wonderful children, and grandchildren.
Crystal has had the opportunity
to travel doing missions work in the states and overseas. She has worked with all ages but her passion
is helping children grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Her desire is that every child would
know their value and feel confident in sharing their unique talents and gifts.
